Another wonderfully relaxing stay … flowers and wildlife superb. Particularly enjoyed the bat walk with Ken and the morning and evening walks around here.

Thanks for being such good hosts for our stay, your cottage and the surrounding gardens are marvellous, and an ideal spot from which to visit the beaches nearby.

Willows cottage faces south overlooking Dittiscombe valley and is dog and family friendly. The open plan sitting room is furnished with TV with streaming, two sofas, a chair, coffee tables, wall lighting, books and shelving, convector and storage heaters. There is wood vinyl flooring throughout.

The fully-equipped kitchen and dining area has a ceramic hob, microwave, electric oven, coffee maker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and storage heater. The downstairs bathroom has a walk-in shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail.

There is Wifi throughout the cottage.

Upstairs the master bedroom overlooks the valley with a king-size bed and an en-suite toilet with basin. Next door there is a single bedroom. At the rear of the cottage there is one double room and one single room. There are a few steps with a hand-rail which lead down to a further bathroom with a bath with mixer taps and shower head, small heated towel rail and electric fan heater. There is night storage heating in all bedrooms.

The garden looks out over a wild flower bank, Dittiscombe Hills and woodland. From the cottage gate you can access the lovely walk around the valley, ponds and woods. Willows garden is enclosed with post and rail and stock proof wire fencing. There is a gravel area and table and chairs to seat six people, stone walls, and shrub and flower borders. General Cottage Information

      • Our prices can be found on the Booking page and are fully inclusive of heating, electricity and linen.
      • Towels are automatically provided in Honeysuckle and The Owlery. If you would like some towels provided please contact Ruth on [email protected].
      • Each cottage has sofas and chairs, coffee tables, TVs with streaming and free Wifi. Further information on local information, eating out, and suggest itineraries can be found within our website.
      • Heating is either oil or gas-fired central heating, or night-storage heating with supplementary heating, and some cottages have woodburners.  Please see individual cottage descriptions.
      • Each cottage kitchen has an electric cooker and ceramic hob, cordless kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment. There is a dishwasher and upright fridge/freezer in Willows.
      • We can supply a bbq on request.
      • All cottages are fully no smoking.
      • Cots, highchairs, mattress protectors and non-slip rubber bath mats are available free on request. Guests are advised to bring other safety equipment such as harnesses and stair-gates.
      • Please see individual descriptions for each cottage bathroom. Some have baths with shower over, some with shower cubicles only, some with walk-in showers. All bathrooms have heating, toilet, washbasin, shaver points, heated towel rail or central heating radiator/towel rail. 
      • Bedding is non-feather duvets and pillows with polycotton protectors, and the bed linen is a polycotton mix. Beds are made up for guests’ arrival.
        • Each cottage has a fire extinguisher, fire blanket and smoke detector.  We also supply a small torch and matches although we would recommend guests bring their own torch if they wish to walk at night-time.
        • The communal laundry room is available to guests with a free washing machine and tumble dryer. Irons, ironing boards and clothes-airers are provided in each cottage.

        • If guests would like to use the log-burners we suggest you pick up logs, kindling, firelighters and matches from our local garages at Halwell, Harbetonford, or East Charleton.
        • Parking. Guests are welcome to unload their car outside the cottage and then to park in the commumal car park. The Owlery has its own private parking space. If you are bringing more than one car please would you let us know in advance of your arrival.
        • For guests with limited mobility we would advise you to ring us if you have any specific requirements so that you can fully enjoy your holiday – call Ruth or Jon on 01548 521272. Honeysuckle cottage is our only single storey cottage.
        • Please bring your own toys and games for children. There’s plenty of space to run and play in the woodland and around the valley, with a flat area for ball games and a small person’s playhouse with toys. Please supervise children at all times.
        • Food deliveries can be made to your cottage door. Please book a delivery time for when you are here as we are currently unable to take delivery on your behalf. Sainsburys, Tescos and Waitrose all deliver to Dittiscombe. When ordering please give both your name and cottage name for the delivery.
