South Devon is easy to reach by road via the M5 and A38.  Route planner and traffic information can be obtained from the RAC and the AA.

We are located just over 1 mile north west of Slapton Village in the South Hams area of South Devon. The Farmhouse and Cottages are set at the end of a private lane so please drive along this with care as it is used by wildlife, dogs, walkers and horses.

We recommend you have access to the following written directions as not all GPS systems work correctly in this area.

Driving DirectSign to Dittiscombeions from Totnes:

Take the A381 towards Kingsbridge. Continue through the villages of Harbertonford and Halwell and go past the Totnes Cross Filling Station, which will be on your left. Approximately 1 mile after the filling station turn left into the lane signposted Slapton and East Allington (this left turn is on a sharp right-hand bend in the main road). Go down this road for approximately 3.3 miles then look on the right for the white finger sign for Dittiscombe What3words: choirs.kilowatt.dare

After approximately 0.5 miles you will see on the right a sign for the Dittiscombe Equestrian Centre with wooden fencing and a private lane What3words: recoup.gong.conspired. Turn right here and with the horse stables and cream bungalow on your left continue down our private lane for 0.2 miles and the farmhouse will be found at the bottom by the gravel car park.

In the centre of the village look for the signpost for ‘Totnes 11 miles’ and with this and the Queens Arms pub on your left continue straight up the hill out of the village to the next signpost at the top of the hill showing Totnes and Halwell. Continue straight on from the Lower Green junction for 1.6 miles then look for the white finger sign on your left for Dittiscombe What3words: choirs.kilowatt.dare.

Take this left turn and after 0.5 miles you will see on the right a sign for the Dittiscombe Equestrian Centre with wooden fencing and a private lane What3words: recoup.gong.conspired. On Arrival

On arrival please park in the communal car park then come through the small gate to the front of the Farmhouse. We will show you into your cottage and answer any questions you may have. You are welcome to unload outside the cottage, then we ask that for the duration of your stay you park in the communal car park (except for The Owlery which has its own car park space).  

If you are bringing more than two cars can you please advise us before arrival.

Your time of arrival should be after 4pm, unless otherwise agreed. Please advise us of your anticipated time of arrival before the start of your holiday. If you are likely to be later please ring the Farmhouse number 01548 521272 or WhatsApp 07821 260787 to keep us up to date. If you are going to arrive after 7pm we will give you self check-in details.

On Departure

Guests are asked to depart by 10am. You can take your car back to the cottage for packing up, then please call at the Farmhouse to drop in the keys.

Our nearest towns are Kingsbridge (7m/10k), Dartmouth (6m/10k), Totnes (13 m/20k), Salcombe (11m/17k), and our nearest cities are Plymouth (30m/48k) and Exeter (40m/65k).

By rail: Our nearest mainline station is Totnes which is under 3 hours from Paddington Station, London, or 30 minutes from Plymouth.  Taxis may be hired at Totnes Station, and there is also a car hire company Alchemy Cars.

By Bike: If you are planning to bring a bicycle on the train please be aware that you will need to pre-book space for your bike before travelling. Go to www.gwr.com for more information. We have covered, non-secured storage for bikes at Dittiscombe.
