Wildlife & Nature
The Kingsbridge-Salcombe Ferry the Rivermaid, is still plying it’s way between the two towns, stopping off at creeks and doing a little birdwatching along the way. It’s a slow and relaxing method of travel. It will continue until mid-October and for more information visit their website. Some wildlife events are still on at the Field Study Centre in Slapton, just two miles from Dittiscombe, with wildlife watching outings and safaris in and around the freshwater lagoon, woodlands and fields near the village. The South Devon Area of Outstanding Nature Beauty have a selection of events from early bird breakfast walks with a ranger to apple juice and cider tasting tours.
